Show Dog
Through an Open Door
I'm going to be away for two weeks so I won't be posting pictures for awhile, but here's an interesting new one I just took.
Witching Hour
I heard this weekend that my photo, Witching Hour, taken from my backyard, was accepted to the Photoplace Gallery in Middlebury for their upcoming Poetry of Shadows exhibition. It was one of 40 photos accepted out of 1,000 for their gallery exhibition. For more information or to see the other submissions visit http://www.vtphotoworkplace.com/id116.html
Hay Day
Received the happy word today that my photo "Hay Day" was accepted in the Down at the Farm exhibit at the Vermont Photospace Gallery in Essex Junction, VT. The photo is of my six-year-old niece, Catherine, having a late summer "hay day" at her family's 200-year-old farm. The show opens on July 19th and runs through August 12th. Bedlam Farm Blog
Hi, many of you may know of writer and photographer Jon Katz. His wife, fiber artist Maria Wulf, recently opened a new art gallery, The Pig Barn Gallery, out of one of the barns on their Bedlam Farm. I attended the opening this past weekend and took some pictures, which I sent to Maria and Jon and have now made his blog. Check them out at http://www.bedlamfarm.com/blog/. Also, for more information on the Pig Barn Gallery check out Maria's page at www.fullmoonfiberart.com.
Mom in Flight
I shot this photo of an Osprey and her nest on the Cape a few weeks ago. I love the lines and how the curved wire mirrors the position of the mother osprey in flight. She has built a beautiful, large nest in not the safest of places, yet, she has commandeered a yellow caution tape to warn that it is others, not she, who needs to worry, if anyone dares mess with her babies. I love that nature exists here in harmony with our man-made structures, that there is such beauty in the interplay between the two -- this timeless dance between man and nature.
